Program courses are taught by our experienced, seasoned faculty members with global business experience. The program's small class size allows you to form strong relations with your professors and take full advantage of their expertise and wealth of business knowledge.
The course places an emphasis on the application of theory and best standards of practice for the healthcare business environment. Students will develop leadership and competent skills specializing in healthcare systems, strategic planning, organizational structure, motivation, and problems solving within healthcare.
This course examines a broad outline of health law and the healthcare system within the United States. There will be an emphasis on the impact of health law and regulations on health care systems including areas such as liability in the workplace, malpractice issues, risk management, and how to manage risks and potential litigious issues.
This course will explore the ethical behavior, situations, and scenarios in the various health care environments. Students will analyze decision-making models, concepts, principles, and required responsibilities of health care providers and how these apply to their specific roles.
The course examines the use of information systems used within the healthcare industry. An emphasis will be placed for health services administrator’s us of systems to integrate clinical, human resource data, and financial information to support decision making within the facility.
This course introduces the main concepts of public health and the vital links between global health and the economic and social development. Students will see determinants of health and how status is measured. There will also be a review on the burden of disease, risk dynamics, and procedures to address disease burdens in cost effective ways.
The master’s thesis is a culminating assessment for obtaining the degree of Master of Science in Healthcare Administration. Each project is unique to the student and flexible in its approach. This project will be a work of original scholarship and research to integrate the models, data, philosophies, and systems reviewed in the program.

Lean Green and Six Sigma Green training is included in the curriculum for each of Wesleyan's graduate business programs. This is an extremely valued certification in many industries. You will learn how to integrate principles of business, statistics, and engineering to achieve tangible results to help improve the quality of your work environment and processes that fulfill your organization's mission. Students must pass a national exam in order to earn certification. Students are responsible for the $199 exam fee.
Wesleyan College is privileged to steward many arts and cultural events and share them with the community. Most are free and open to the public. Wesleyan art galleries are open M-F 1:30 – 5:00 PM and on Wesleyan Market Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.
