Samantha Mishima Friedman is a mezzo-soprano and passionate voice teacher with over a decade of experience. Her students have won awards at competitions such as GA NATS and Classical Singer Magazine and have been accepted into various music programs. With expertise spanning opera, musical theater, jazz, and CCM (Contemporary Commercial Music), she prepares singers for successful auditions and performances across multiple genres. She is dedicated to fostering an inclusive learning environment, tailoring her approach to each student’s unique strengths and goals.

An active performer, Samantha has appeared in Postcard from Morocco, Così fan tutte, The Bear, and A Little Night Music, among many other oratorios, musicals, operas, and recitals. She is also a strong advocate for underrepresented composers, focusing her research and performances on female composers and overlooked works in vocal literature. Beyond the stage, she is committed to expanding access to music education and performance opportunities, ensuring that singers of all backgrounds and abilities have the support they need to thrive.

She is completing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at the University of Georgia. She also holds a Master of Music from Mercer University and a Bachelor of Arts from Sarah Lawrence College.
