My research is focused on elucidating the molecular events involved in regulating differentiation in epidermal keratinocytes and uterine and vaginal epithelial cells. Specifically, I study and compare gene expression of such differentiation-specific proteins as transglutaminase, keratin, and cornifin in normal and cancerous states in these tissues.
