Flexible Transfer Credit Policy

Wesleyan College has one of the most flexible transfer credit policies in the country.

We will work with you early in the process to identify your transferable credits. In general, transfer credits must come from an accredited institution, be from degree-level coursework, and have a grade of “C” or higher.

  • If you studied at a regionally accredited community college, you may transfer and apply up to 60 credits.
  • If you studied at a regionally accredited four-year institution, you may transfer and apply up to 90 credits.
  • If you have studied at more than one institution, we can accept your credits, provided the institutions are regionally accredited.
  • If you previously earned an Associate's degree at a regionally accredited college, you do not have to take additional general education courses at Wesleyan College to earn your bachelor's degree.
  • When you apply, you will receive a full transfer credit evaluation. Your academic evaluation will show where your previously earned credit will fit into your degree and show what courses you have left to take. See listing of courses that will transfer to Wesleyan.
Minimal Technology Requirements

Our technology requirements are simple and affordable.

You can participate in Wesleyan Online courses from anywhere, as long as you have access to a reliable broadband Internet connection and a desktop (or laptop) with a webcam and a microphone. (Please Note: Chromebooks are not compatible with Wesleyan's online testing software.) Our course sites are also available through a free Canvas Student mobile app, so you can take your course communication tools and learning materials with you on the go.

Career Focused Curriuculum

Our career-focused curriculum is designed to help you advance your career and increase your salary.

Wesleyan College has risen above the competition to ensure superior career preparation and professional development for all students in their chosen field of study. As an institution, we believe it is essential for each student to develop knowledge and skills that can transfer to the workplace and to demonstrate their application through a practical experience.  Our From Here to Career program is about more than landing a new job or getting a promotion at work. Wesleyan students learn how to plot and navigate their own career development journey—by refining their interests and goals, developing the skills they need to succeed, and learning to highlight those skills effectively in the workplace or a job interview.

We also recognize that many adult students come to Wesleyan with years of valuable professional knowledge and experience, which is why we offer the opportunity to receive academic credit for prior workplace learning.

Award Winning Faculty

Our faculty is ranked among the best in the nation.

Wesleyan’s online classes are taught by the same dedicated, experienced, and full-time faculty who lead our on-campus classes. Ninety percent of Wesleyan’s full-time faculty hold the highest degrees in their fields from places like Oxford, Harvard, MIT, Georgetown, Duke, Loyola University, University of California at Berkeley, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, and Yale. Wesleyan students agree that, although their classes may be challenging, the professors are definitely the best part of their college experience.

Learning Environment Designed for Women

Women’s colleges are known for creating self-confident leaders and communicators who get involved, speak up, and speak out.

Research shows that ninety percent of women’s college graduates say they feel the financial investment in their education was worth it. Graduates of women’s colleges feel better prepared for:

  • life after college
  • their first job
  • a career change
  • advancement in their career

(Survey conducted by Hardwick Day for the Women’s College Coalition.)

Education Rooted in the Liberal Arts

Women who earn a liberal arts degree believe they can change the world - and they do!

A liberal arts education provides wide-ranging exploration of many different subjects and ensures a better working knowledge of the world, rather than focusing on a single subject area. Your Wesleyan coursework will teach you how to

  • think for yourself
  • think outside the box
  • think critically
  • see things as a whole
  • develop your intellectual ability
  • prepare for many fields in today’s workplace

A liberal arts background will equip you with a unique perspective that makes you highly competitive for many professional opportunities and quite successful at whatever you choose to do.

ONLINE STUDENT HIGHLIGHTS

Jatasia Boone

Jatasia Boone"The best part of being a transfer student at Wesleyan College is that it feels like home! Home to me is welcoming, lots of discussion, open communication, and personalized. From the admission process to the enrollment and advising process to being an active student in classes and anything in between, I have been able to be addressed and seen as a person. This is especially important to me because the interest in my well-being allows me to foster an environment that is conducive to my educational journey. The instructors and staff at Wesleyan are committed to assisting and developing you every step of the way. With every interaction, I walk away with new professional aunts, uncles, and cousins because their traits are similar to your favorite family member! Wesleyan has pushed me outside of my comfortable limits to garner new ways of analyzing and provided me with methods and tools to not only utilize in my professional career but also my personal life! I am able to see my growth since becoming a student at Wesleyan—but even more, so are my colleagues and family members. For this, I am forever grateful to Wesleyan College!"

Chartavia Fuller

Chartavia Fuller"The best part of being a transfer student at Wesleyan College is the support that I received from my advisor, Shara Veda. Anytime I need Shara, she's always present and available. The motivation she provides has been inspirational and thus motivates me to keep going, never give up, and keep pushing myself. Before transferring to Wesleyan, my morals and ethics were ever-present. It's heartwarming to have an advisor with the same morals and ethics I was raised with. Shara is the best; everyone on her team is blessed to have her!"
