To strengthen Wesleyan’s financial future, our endowment needs to reach $100 million, which would generate about $5 million each year to support scholarships, faculty salaries, technology and many more necessities to ensure Wesleyan’s strength forever.
Alumnae from the classes of 2005 – 2020 are challenged to join the pack and raise $2,000 by June 30 to bring two Meeting Owls to campus. A Meeting Owl is an all-in-one audio/video 360° conferencing device that will turn any classroom into a near face-to-face experience for those unable to attend in person. READ MORE

One of the easiest ways to honor a connection to Wesleyan College is to include Wesleyan in your estate plan. A bequest can be a specific amount, or all or part of what is left after family needs are met. Simply meet with your attorney to draft, update, or supplement your will. THEN LET US KNOW. We would like to recognize you with a lifetime membership in the prestigious Society for the Twenty-first Century. FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION, please contact Susan Allen at (478) 757-5133 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wesleyan accepts gifts of publicly traded stocks and bonds for annual fund gifts, capital gifts and planned gifts. Gifts of closely held stock can present special challenges and will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the Vice President for Institutional Advancement who will consult, as necessary, with the President and the Gift Acceptance Committee. It is Wesleyan’s policy, in most cases, to sell stock promptly upon receipt.
The Gift Acceptance Committee or other appropriate body of the Board of Trustees must approve acceptance of real estate. Due consideration of both environmental and financial implications is imperative. For more information please contact our office at (478) 757-5131.
The Advancement Office, in consultation with the appropriate department, determines whether a potential gift can be used or displayed by the college. The Advancement Office will consider the distinction between related and non related use and, if necessary, communicate the resultant tax implications to the donor. For tax purposes, gifts of personal property are subject to taxation, even if the receiving institution is a charitable organization, when the gift is non related, or does not advance the programs of the institution.
By acting quickly, you can take advantage of the IRA rollover this year to receive tax benefits and advance the mission of Wesleyan.
Individuals 70 ½ or older can transfer up to $100,000 directly from their traditional IRA to one or more qualified charities such as Wesleyan College every year without paying income taxes on the distribution. If you have not taken your IRA distribution for the year, there is still time to transfer all or part of your distribution to Wesleyan to accomplish your philanthropic goals.
To take advantage of the IRA Charitable Rollover, the direct transfer from your IRA to Wesleyan needs to be completed by December 31.
Don't forget, you can also make Wesleyan a beneficiary of your IRA or your other retirement assets. While your heirs have to pay taxes on these types of gifts, Wesleyan College is a tax exempt organization and can direct your entire contribution to an area on campus of your choosing.
To establish your legacy and make a difference for future Wesleyan students, call our office at (478) 757-5131. We will be happy to talk to you or your professional advisors to help facilitate a charitable rollover gift to benefit Wesleyan College!
Planned giving is a way for you to support Wesleyan by making gifts using your estate. These gifts do require some planning, and often require the assistance of your professional advisor. For 184 years Wesleyan has been dedicated to educating women at Wesleyan. For the College to endure and flourish, we all must be committed to our cause of educating and inspiring the next generation of scholars and leaders.
Our curriculum helps women develop skills needed to live successfully in a rapidly changing world. It’s estimated that today’s students will have 5 separate careers. A liberal arts education prepares students for their first and last jobs.
Most classes at Wesleyan have fewer than 20 students, a setting where women share first-hand experiences, debate issues, and learn from others. Critical thinking skills and confidence gained in the classroom extend to all areas of their lives.
Through classroom instruction and extracurricular service, Wesleyan women are guided to live as engaged citizens. They leave prepared to think deeply and creatively and to understand and respond to individual, local, and global responsibilities.
Our athletic programs enhance leadership skills while allowing athletes to continue in a sport they love. Around 25% of our full-time, residential students compete in five NCAA Division III level sports and on our equestrian team.
Students consistently say that our outstanding faculty is one of the best parts of their Wesleyan experience. A 13:1 student-professor ratio fosters consistent communication as well as relationships that continue beyond graduation.
Wesleyan offers students the opportunity to serve as assistants in faculty labs and to conduct their own research as early as their sophomore year, giving them an advantage over other students applying to graduate school.
From Here to Career helps students explore career opportunities in their chosen discipline through required Professional Development that equips them to write and speak about their skills and how they relate to academic coursework and career goals.
Wesleyan faculty and staff support our students through their excellent work and their gifts. They support the College financially with more than half making monthly contributions. We need every alumna to join us.
At this crucial time for Wesleyan as a small, liberal arts women’s college, we need every alumna to give. Now is the time to begin or renew your commitment to Wesleyan’s future. The girls are counting on you.
Wesleyan College is privileged to steward many arts and cultural events and share them with the community. Most are free and open to the public. Wesleyan art galleries are open M-F 1:30 – 5:00 PM and on Wesleyan Market Saturdays from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.View More
